Liberti wholeheartedly embraces the good news of historic Christian faith: that, in the life, death, and the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth, God has acted to redeem and renew the cosmos he has created.

Our ministry life stems from three values:

  • Worship

  • Community

  • Mercy

We find freedom in embracing robust, historic Christian faith, expressed in three ancient creeds:

And in three historic confessions:

Liberti church is part of the historic, worldwide family of God- the Church.

Liberti is part of the City Classis of the Reformed Church in America, a historic denomination in the Reformed family of the Christian Church.  The RCA, founded in 1628 in New Amsterdam (today’s New York City), is the oldest Protestant denomination in the USA, and is characterized by both deep roots in historic, Reformed Christian faith, and an ongoing commitment to the mission of Christ in the world.

Our church is connected to a network of Liberti Churches in the greater Philadelphia region.

And, we are also participants in an international organization that seeks to start gospel-centered churches in the world's major metro regions called the Redeemer City to City Network.

 Membership

At Liberti Church, we call membership being “in covenant.”  In Christ, God makes promises of love and commitment to us, and we want to echo this same promise-making commitment in our relationships together.  Here’s how you can come “in-covenant” and join Liberti:

  • In-covenant class. Several times a year, we offer a class to introduce people at our church to the beliefs of Christian faith, and what it means to be a part of the Liberti Church community.

  • One-on-One connection with a church leader. Everyone who would like to join Liberti will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one, or as a family, with a church leader, where you’ll be able to share your story, ask further questions, and consider how to get connected and involved in the life of the church.

  • Membership vows in a worship service. For those who would like to join themselves to Liberti Church, the final step is to make public promises to God and his people in a worship service. If you are becoming a Christian, this will also be an opportunity to celebrate the story of God’s grace in your life, and be baptized.

Baptism

In the Christian family, baptism is a “visible promise.” Just as hearing the Scriptures offers God’s promises of grace through Christ to us through our ears, the act of baptism holds out the promise of God’s grace to us visually. The act of baptism portrays God's love in Christ to us, and is the way in which we celebrate people connecting to God and to God's family.

If you'd like to talk with a church leader about being baptized, or having your child baptized, we'd love to connect with you; you can simply get in touch with us here.
